Mr. Semenov is a Director of House of Investment and has more than 15 years of experience in Financial Services. He started out in Investment Banking with Rothschild in Europe where he has led a number of bank restructuring cases and privatisations

He has substantial investment banking expertise in advising financial institutions in Central and Eastern Europe on financial restructuring. In particular, Alex led the work on implementing CSOB acquisition of IPB in the Czech Republic and IPB restructuring as well as subsequent negotiations with the EU Commission on the state aid matters; restructuring of Bancorex in Romania; acquisition of ABSA by Barclays in South Africa; privatisation of NLB in Slovenia and Bank Pekao and PZU in Poland

Subsequently, Alex was a senior member of management teams in a number of private equity and investment management vehicles with assets in excess of US$ 9 bn. During that time, Alex has structured variety of investments, projects and investments in natural resources and mining, energy, chemicals, oil & gas, IT and other industries

Most recently, Alex led the Equity Capital Market effort at Gazprombank, the third largest Russian bank.

Alex holds a PhD from University of Newcastle and is a CFA charterholder.
